New Paintings and a Duet with Ed Jurdi!

I finished the "Legend of Tom Dooley", and "Mt. Pisgah" paintings at last! "Snake Handlers" and two others are getting close. You can see them all on my instagram. I'll be uploading them to my art site this week so you can buy prints of them, along with many old favorites. You can also find prints in person at Zapow in Asheville.
I'm starting a series of monthly duets with musicians I admire at the Bywater in Asheville, called Monthly Monday Troubadours. November 12 is the first one and I am delighted to welcome Ed Jurdi of Austin's Band of Heathens to join me!

Heading Back to Nashville

I'm heading back to Nashville next week, after a great time there last week at Americana Festival. I'm playing with Anna Joy Harris, a talented songwriter, who I met at Cafe Rooster.

I've got some paintings hanging at the space too. Nashville friends, please come see us!

Paintings at Noble Kava and Americana Fest Here I Come!

Good times were had at Riverfest! I'll have some video from that soon.  Now I'm heading back to Nashville for Americana Fest! Wish me luck networking.

Over 20 paintings are now on view at Noble Kava Bar at 268 Biltmore Ave in Asheville. Prints are available there, as well as at Zapow.

Now I'm psyched for Americana Fest this year. It's my first as an AMA member. It brings together fans and music industry professionals for six days of seminars, networking opportunities and incredible live music! I'll be performing twice,  schmoozing, and catching as many great shows as I can.

What's Happening this summer?

Lots of behind the scenes going on!

  • The Fleetwoods show video is being edited.
  • Booking some Nashville shows and possibly Atlanta and Athens
  • "Another Head" animation progressing slow but steady
  • Have a show in Carrboro on June 16th at 2nd Wind
  • Pulling my press packet together at last
  • Writing about my East Village days in the 1980s for a lecture
  • AND making a new series of paintings in my spare time - see the latest work in progress on my George Terry McDonald Art Facebook page.
